All features

Every 3D product animation control, in one panel

MeshShot keeps the whole studio in a single scrolling panel next to your design. Here is what each part of the plugin does, from the first import to the final export.

01 · IMPORT

Import any 3D model

Drag in .glb, .gltf, .obj or .fbx files. Select an .mtl with its textures to keep the original colours. Very large files can open in the MeshShot web app.

02 · OBJECT

Scale, material & shadow

Resize the object, keep its original material or restyle it, and switch the contact shadow on or off. Changes update live.

03 · CANVAS

Aspect ratio first

Choose Square 1:1, Standard 4:3, Widescreen 16:9 or Portrait 9:16. Framing, snapshots, video and GIF all follow it.

04 · PARTS

Model parts

Browse the individual meshes inside complex models, like the dozens of parts in a phone or device file.

05 · CAMERA

Camera & field of view

Jump between Front, Side, 3/4 and Top. A low field of view gives a flat telephoto product look, a high one adds depth.

06 · ORIENTATION

Model orientation

Fix models that load sideways with precise X, Y and Z rotation, then save any angle with Set current view as Front.

07 · LIGHT

Studio lighting

Start from a lighting preset, then tune brightness, light angle and light height. Shadow softness, size and distance are adjustable too.

08 · BACKGROUND

Five background modes

Studio, Transparent, solid Colour, Gradient or your own Image, so every render matches your layout.

09 · TIMELINE

Camera timeline

Use 360 Loop, Hero Reveal, Product Spin, Dramatic Orbit or Four Sides, or chain your own steps and press Play to preview.

10 · EXPORT

Snapshot, video & GIF

Place a snapshot on the canvas, render video, make a GIF, or lay out animation frames as a storyboard row or a looping prototype (PRO).

What you can make

From flat mockup to moving product

Real renders made inside the plugin. No exporting to a separate app, no render farm, no waiting on a 3D artist.

Bring real product models into Figma

Drop a device, packaging or hardware file into the plugin and it appears in the preview, lit and centred. It is the fastest starting point for a 3D product animation, because the model you already have becomes the hero of your design.

  • GLB, GLTF, OBJ and FBX support
  • Keep original materials and textures
  • Heavy files? Open them in the web app

Turn headlines into 3D text

Type a word and MeshShot extrudes it into solid 3D lettering with a real shadow underneath. Use it for launch banners, thumbnails and bold section headers that stand out from flat type.

  • Adjustable shadow softness, size and distance
  • Studio lighting with angle and height
  • Framed automatically in the preview

Give your logo real depth

Select a vector layer in Figma and MeshShot turns it into a 3D object you can light and rotate. Brand marks, icons and app symbols get a premium look in a couple of clicks.

Render & export

Render video and GIF in one click

Chain timeline steps such as Front, Half Turn and Hold, preview them, then render. Download the video file or apply the result directly to your Figma frame for handoff and presentations.

  • Progress bar with cancel at any time

Switch the camera and the same model tells a different story. Try it here: flip between the 3/4 hero view and the top view used for flat-lay layouts.

Workflow

How to make a 3D product animation in 4 steps

You do not need to learn a 3D suite. If you can use Figma, you can finish your first render in a few minutes.

  1. 1

    Import or create

Drop a GLB, OBJ or FBX file, type 3D text, or select a Figma layer.

  2. 2

    Frame the shot

Pick an aspect ratio, a camera preset and a field of view.

  3. 3

    Style the scene

Set lighting, shadow and a background that fits your layout.

  4. 4

    Animate & export

Add a timeline preset, then export a snapshot, video or GIF.

Why MeshShot

MeshShot vs a traditional 3D pipeline

3D animation for designers should not mean weeks of learning new software. Here is how the two workflows compare.

FAQ

3D product animation questions

What is MeshShot?

MeshShot is a 3D to Figma plugin by ProFigma. It lets you import 3D models or create 3D text and logos, style them with lighting and backgrounds, animate the camera and export the result as an image, video or GIF.

Is the MeshShot Figma plugin available now?

Yes. You can install it from the Figma Community and run it from the plugins menu in any Figma design file. There is also a browser version at meshshot.com.

How do I create a 3D product animation in Figma?

Open MeshShot, import your model, choose an aspect ratio and camera angle, set lighting and background, add a timeline preset such as 360 Loop or Product Spin, then export a video or GIF, or apply it to your Figma frame.

Which 3D file formats are supported?

MeshShot imports .glb, .gltf, .obj and .fbx files. For OBJ models, select the .mtl file and its textures together to keep the original colours.

Do I need Blender or 3D experience?

No. Camera angles, lighting and motion all come as presets with simple sliders, so any designer who knows Figma can produce 3D product visuals without a separate 3D tool.

What can I export?

You can place a snapshot on the canvas, render a video (WebM VP9 and other browser formats), create a GIF, or export animation frames as a storyboard row or a looping prototype. The looping prototype layout is a PRO feature.

Can videos have a transparent background?

Not at the moment. Browser video encoders do not support real transparency, so videos render with a background. Use a snapshot with the Transparent background option when you need a cut-out image.

My model file is very large. What should I do?

Open it in the MeshShot web app. It has the whole browser window to work with instead of a small plugin panel, which handles heavy models more comfortably.
