Copy-and-Paste Figma Components: Design Landing Pages 3x Faster
· 4 min read · by the ProFigma team

Look at ten landing pages and you will see the same parts again and again: a hero, a row of features, pricing, a few testimonials, a footer. Designers redraw these sections thousands of times. There is a faster way: start from a finished component and change it to fit your project.
The problem with starting from scratch
Drawing a pricing table from a blank canvas takes an hour or more. Most of that time goes into things nobody notices: spacing, alignment, text styles, states. And a week later, you discover you drew it slightly differently than the last time.
When you start from a well-built component, the hard decisions are already made. You only change the content and the colors.
What makes a good component
- Real layers. Text you can edit, not a flattened image.
- Auto layout. It resizes and reflows when the content changes.
- Clear naming. You can find what you need in the layers panel.
- Sensible spacing. Consistent padding and gaps.
How copy and paste works
Our ProFigma Components plugin puts the whole library inside Figma. You search or filter by category, click Copy on a preview, then press Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on a Mac) on your canvas. The component lands in your file as real, editable layers.
Figma does not let a plugin place layers on the canvas by itself, which is why you press paste yourself. The copy step uses the component's original Figma data, so what you paste is what we built.
A simple workflow
- Sketch the page structure first: hero, features, pricing, call to action.
- Pick a component for each section from the component library or the plugin.
- Paste them into one frame and line them up.
- Replace the text and images, and change the colors to match your brand.
- Turn the parts you will reuse into your own components.
This turns a day of layout work into an afternoon, and leaves the time for the thinking that actually matters: your message and your users.
Things to check before you ship
- Is the text readable? Check contrast with the contrast checker.
- Do spacing and type sizes match the rest of your design? A type scale helps.
- Does it work on mobile? Resize the frame and see how auto layout responds.
- Have you removed placeholder content?
Free and Pro
You can copy 30 components for free. Pro removes the limit and unlocks the Pro components. If you want to see what is in the library first, browse the component gallery on the site.
A worked example: a landing page in six pastes
- Navigation bar. Paste it at the top of a 1440 pixel wide frame.
- Hero. Choose one with a headline, a short line of text, a button and an image area.
- Feature row. Three or four cards with an icon, a title and a sentence.
- Social proof. A row of logos or two testimonials.
- Pricing or call to action. Only one of the two, so the page stays focused.
- Footer. Links, a short note and contact details.
Then replace the text with yours, swap the images, and set your brand color once. Because the sections use auto layout, longer text pushes things down instead of breaking the design.
Keep pasted components tidy
- Rename the top layer of each section, for example
HeroorPricing. - Put all pasted sections in one frame, with a vertical auto layout and no gap, so the page reflows.
- Create color and text styles first, then apply them to the pasted layers. A single style change then updates the whole page.
- Delete what you do not use. Hidden layers make files heavier and harder to understand.
If paste does not work
- Click once on an empty part of the canvas first, so Figma knows where to paste.
- Press Ctrl+V on Windows or Cmd+V on a Mac.
- Check that you pressed Copy on the component you want, and that the copy did not fail.
- If you have used your 30 free copies, the plugin will ask you to upgrade for more.
When a ready-made component is not the right choice
Components save time on common sections, but they are a starting point. If your product has a very specific layout, a unique interaction or a strict design system, build that part yourself and use components for the routine parts around it. Always adjust the type, spacing and colors so the page looks like your brand and not like a template.
Frequently asked questions
Are the pasted components editable?
Yes. They arrive as real Figma layers with editable text, colors and layout.
Can I use them in client projects?
Yes. Free and Pro components can be used in your own and your clients' projects.
Why do I have to press paste myself?
Figma plugins can't paste onto the canvas on your behalf. Click the canvas and press Ctrl+V.
